How to Turn Screenshots into a Narrated Video (Step by Step)
tutorial
A step-by-step walkthrough for turning a folder of screenshots into a narrated MP4 — no screen recorder, no timeline editing required.
You have the screenshots. You need a video. Here's the shortest path from PNGs to a published, narrated MP4 using Plot.
1. Gather your screenshots
Export the screens that show the flow you want to demo. Order them the way a new user would experience the product: landing, sign-up, core action, result. Rename them `01`, `02`, `03` so they upload in sequence.
2. Pick the Explainer template
Open Plot, choose the Explainer template, and name your story after the outcome (e.g. "Create your first invoice"). This gives the AI a goal to write toward instead of a generic voiceover.
3. Upload and let Plot draft
Drag in your screenshots. Plot reads each frame, drafts a script, paces the scenes, and picks a voice and background track. You get a full preview in a couple of minutes.
4. Edit the script, not the timeline
Tweak wording scene by scene. Change the voice if you want a different tone. You never touch a video timeline — Plot re-renders when you're done.
5. Publish and share
Export the MP4 or publish the SEO-ready page and drop the link in social, docs, or your onboarding email.
That's it — screenshots in, narrated video out. See a live example on the Product Demos in minutes page.
